Peripheral Neuropathy

Peripheral neuropathy occurs when the nerves of the foot are permanently damaged. The condition primarily affects patients with a long history of diabetes, poorly-controlled diabetes or alcoholism.

Patients with peripheral neuropathy may feel no normal pressure or sensation while walking. They also may experience difficulty with balance and normal movement, incurring scrapes, cuts, and blisters on their feet without even realizing it.

Custom footwear minimizes the symptoms of neuropathy, allowing patients to regain an active lifestyle. Dr. Marso can help patients size, select and order the styles that matches their needs and their personality.
